2026/27 entertainment lineup released for the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre

The Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre’s lineup of performing arts entertainment for the 2026/27 season has been announced. It includes 25 shows with a wide range of performers coming to Medicine Hat.

Some musician acts include rock guitarist Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, JUNO Award-winning country artists William Prince and Donovan Woods, and holiday season shows from country artist Michelle Wright and jazz vocalist Matt Dusk.

Saskatchewan comedian Brent Butt, known for his TV series Corner Gas, will take the stage. Manitoba illusionist Darcy Oake is also on the schedule.

A production of Bury the Hatchet, a true-crime retelling of the Lizzie Borden story.

Children’s shows are also part of the mix with Sesame Street LiveBeauty and the Beast, and Rumpelstiltskin.

“There’s something truly special about experiencing live performances, and this season offers many opportunities for residents to get out, be entertained, and create memorable moments with friends and family,” City of Medicine Hat Entertainment & Event Coordinator Lauren Thomas said in a statement.

“From big-name performers to engaging family shows, it’s exciting to see such a wide variety of experiences available right here in our community—giving people the chance to discover something new, share in live entertainment, and make the most of what the Esplanade has to offer.”

Esplanade Members will receive access to purchase tickets at early-bird prices starting Wednesday, May 6, before tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, May 8.

Early-bird pricing for participating events will be available for a limited time with limited quantities.

The On-Stage Series will return with four shows spanning the folk, Americana, and classical genres, with four-packs sold at a discounted price.
