Momentum Kick-Off Grant available to support City of Medicine Hat’s Community Well-Being Plan

May 4, 2026 | 9:10 AM

The City of Medicine Hat has created a funding opportunity to support projects that help advance strategic objectives in its Community Well-Being Plan.

The Community Well-Being Plan aims to create measurable improvements in the health, social, cultural, and economic well-being of residents in Medicine Hat.

To support these types of community initiatives, the Momentum Kick-Off Grant provides one-time funding of up to $10,000. Applications are open until June 5, 2026, at 3 p.m.

“We’re excited to provide this one-time opportunity to spark locally driven ideas and help community organizations put them into action,” City of Medicine Hat Community Resource Worker Shantel Ottenbreit said.

“By backing these projects, the City is helping foster positive change and strengthen the overall quality of life for Hatters.”

Projects must be based in Medicine Hat and directly impact community residents.

They must also align with and address one or more of the actions outlined in the Momentum Plan Summary of the Community Well-Being Plan.

The City recommends applicants read the guidelines and criteria for the grant to ensure their project and application meet the program objectives and eligibility criteria.
