Partek IT Solutions in Medicine Hat received global recognition as MSP of the Year

Partek IT Solutions Inc. in Medicine Hat is gaining international attention after being named Managed Service Provider of the Year at the 2026 Kaseya Connect Global Conference in Las Vegas.

The firm received the honour at the conference, which brings together thousands of IT professionals globally, recognizing providers that demonstrate leadership, operational strength and a commitment to customer success, with Kaseya serving more than 40,000 managed service providers worldwide.

Company CEO James Parsons said the recognition highlights both the company’s growth and the strength of the local tech sector in Medicine Hat.

“The IT space in Medicine Hat is one of those industries that flies a little bit under the radar, but we’ve got some really great technical talent here, and some really awesome IT companies that are running, and to be recognized at that level is pretty cool,” Parsons said.

“To come out of Medicine Hat, I think so often [that] this is like an oil and gas place or other things, but there’s some really cool innovation happening here and really cool stuff.”

Parsons said Partek operates in what’s known as the MSP space, where companies provide outsourced, proactive IT support for businesses that don’t have in-house teams.

“This is essentially a form of IT service provider that does more proactive work, essentially takes the role of in-house IT for companies that don’t have or can’t afford or aren’t big enough for in-house IT,” Parsons said.

Founded in 2008, Partek IT Solutions now supports more than 300 organizations and manages over 3,500 endpoints across Western Canada, primarily serving small and mid-sized businesses in sectors such as accounting, legal and health care.

Parsons said the company’s approach focuses on understanding clients’ operations and building technology around their needs.

“We focus really heavily on trying to sort of humanize it, trying to focus on making our clients understand the value that it brings to their business,” Parsons said.

“We might be a bunch of you know computer nerds behind the scenes playing video games, but at the end of the day, you know you’re a human being running a business, we want to make sure we support you.”

Despite its growth, Partek remains based in Medicine Hat, where it employs more than 15 staff and works with Medicine Hat College and regional initiatives.

Parsons said that local grounding played a role in the company’s success, especially during periods when businesses relied heavily on remote technology support, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We were able to keep a lot of these businesses operating during a time [when] it was very difficult,” Parsons said.

Parsons said the recognition of the award and the honour the company received ultimately belongs to the team.

“I think when you get an opportunity like that to not only be recognized but also you just sort of celebrate a win, it’s a cool thing to sort of do as a team,” Parsons said.
