Police charge third male with first degree murder

Mar 31, 2026 | 10:30 AM

Lethbridge Police have arrested and charged a 42-year-old male with first degree murder – the third subject to be charged in connection with the death of a 27-year-old man last week.

Police say the male was arrested late Monday night following the execution of search warrants at two residences along Mt Crandell Crescent. Two other males were previously arrested March 28.

On March 27, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police and EMS responded to a report of an assault at an apartment complex along the 200 block of 7 A Avenue South. Upon arrival, LPS says there was an unresponsive male located inside one of the units. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has been identified as a 27-year-old Lethbridge man.

Police say evidence indicates this was a targeted incident between parties known to one another.

Nicholas Rodney Scout, 42, of Lethbridge, is charged with one count of first degree murder. LPS says Scout is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Releasing hearing.

LPS says the investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
