Winter storm watch in Medicine Hat area starting Monday night

Environment Canada has a winter storm watch is in place for Red Deer through Medicine Hat.

Hazardous weather is expected Monday night and Tuesday morning.

A cold front will bring heavy rain showers or flurries, and is expected late tonight, with strong northwest winds gusting to 90 km/h.

This will be followed by temperatures quickly dropping below zero C in some areas, likely causing any wet surfaces to freeze.

Icy surfaces may form quickly and be difficult to detect.
