Young entrepreneurs were awarded at the Women in Business Expo in Medicine Hat

Girls from Medicine Hat and the surrounding area showcased their businesses at the Women in Business Expo, Market and Tradeshow and Pitch Competition on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Stampede Auditorium.

Jade of Pure By Jade placed first, with Daenerys of Happy Penguin Bath Creations finished second, and siblings Harlow and Peyton of Sugar & Smiles took third at the expo.

The organization gave a big congratulations to the participants who all showcased creativity, confidence, and business skills through a mix of product displays and live pitch presentations.

The local adjudicators for the event included Tracy Stroud of the APEX Regional Innovation Network of Southeast Alberta, Melissa Mullis, executive director of the Root Cellar, and Pam, a Root Cellar board member.

The event had great support from sponsors, including clearTEQpos by Autostar, Methanex and the APEX Regional Innovation Network of Southeast Alberta.
