The Medicine Hat Tigers (17-6-3-2) scored seven goals on their first 18 shots as they blew past the East Division-leading Prince Albert Raiders (17-3-4-0) 7-1.

Tigers defenseman Jonas Woo recorded his fourth four-point night of the season, picking up a goal and three assists to now lead all Western Hockey League defensemen in points with 32.

Bryce Pickford and Liam Ruck each had three-point nights while Yaroslav Bryzgalov and Misha Volotovskii also had multi-point affairs.

After allowing four goals on the Tigers opening ten shots, Raiders netminder Michal Orsulak was pulled in favour of Dimitri Fortin, who didn’t fare much better, allowing three goals on the first eight shots he faced.

The lone Prince Albert offensive tally came from Max Heise on a breakaway in the middle of the second period.

Tensions ran high throughout the game as the two clubs combined for 194 penalty minutes, and Orsulak would be forced back in between the pipes late in the third period after Fortin was given a game misconduct.

Jordan Switzer was steady for the Tabbies, stopping 24 of 25 shots in the win.

The Tigers are back in action Friday night in Moose Jaw as they take on the Warriors for the first time this season in their final road game before the holiday break.
