Medicine Hat Tigers rematch Prince Albert Raiders to kick-off December

The Medicine Hat Tigers (16-6-3-2) take on the East Division-leading Prince Albert Raiders (17-2-4-0) in a rematch of Saturday night’s 3-2 Tigers victory.

With the win, Medicine Hat handed Prince Albert just its second regulation loss of the season and the clubs first on home ice.

Kadon McCann was credited with the game-winning goal after a Prince Albert clearing attempt deflected off the Tigers forward and into the back of the net with 1:37 remaining in the third period.

“There was luck in the goal, there wasn’t luck in the game”, said Tigers Head Coach and General Manager Willie Desjardins.

“It was a fortunate bounce for sure, but the guys made their own luck; they’d worked hard throughout the game”, he added.

The win wrapped up a month of November for the team that saw them boast a 6-2-2-2 record and enter December on an eight-game point streak.

Meanwhile, the Raiders remain as dangerous a team as exists in the Western Hockey League, having points in 21 of their 23 games this season.

Prince Albert will be getting some extra reinforcement to their lineup, as earlier today, they acquired 19-year-old forward Maddix McCagherty from the Wenatchee Wild in exchange for a pair of draft picks.

McCagherty has 15 points in 22 games with Wenatchee this season, and it is unclear if he will be in the lineup tonight against the Tigers.

The rematch gets underway at 7:00 p.m. MST inside Co-op Place, and the pre-game show gets underway at 6:45 on WILD 94.5 FM.
