The 125-year annual general meeting of the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce was held on Nov. 27, 2025.

A report on the achievements of the 2023-2024 fiscal year was displayed in the year-in-review presentation.

The chamber approved its 2025 financial statements and confirmed its board of directors and executive team for the 2025-26 term.

Treasurer Brittany McMillan reported the Chamber continues to work toward paying down back-and-forth debt to ensure long-term stability and allow the organization to invest in future growth opportunities.

The Chamber then confirmed its slate of directors, who are all returning members based on this year’s spring call for nominations.

The list includes Les Sholley of Pritchard & Company Law Firm LLP, Doug Little of Super T Aviation, Matt Peterson of Moxie’s Grill & Bar, Branda Mercer of Mercer Upholstery, Richard Munro of Memory Lane Computers, Rob Goldade of Silverado Country Western Wear & Décor, Brittany McMillan of EBT Chartered Professional Accountants, Rebecca Lydon of Scotiabank, and Peggy Gizen of Being Human Services.

With no nominations from the floor, members approved the slate unanimously.

The executive slate for 2025-26 was also confirmed, with Aaron Fleming of Western Financial Group serving as president, Matt Peterson as first vice-president, Richard Munro as second vice-president and Brittany McMillan as treasurer.

Each position was acclaimed after no additional nominations were put forward.

Fleming formally received the ceremonial gavel after stepping into the presidency mid-year and thanked members for their confidence, and said he looks forward to the coming year.

The chamber also recognized several long-standing member businesses, including TD Canada Trust, RBC Financial, Medicine Hat News and Wright’s Jewelry Ltd., each with more than a century of continuous membership.

Fleming gave closing remarks and adjourned the meeting after recognizing Steve Heid, Trevor Anhel and all the Past Presidents of the chamber.
