Medicine Hat receives first significant snowfall of the season on Monday

Southern Alberta received its first significant snowfall of the season on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025.

Environment Canada said that the snowfall started in the mountain parks on Sunday morning, and ended early Monday evening in the southeast.

Measurements by airport observers at 6 p.m. on Monday showed 9 cm of snow received in Medicine Hat, the same as Calgary, and higher than the 7 cm reported in Lethbridge.

Snowfall reports from volunteers and third-party sources for southeast Alberta showed 13 cm in Medicine Hat and 5 cm in Brooks.

Bow Summit, northwest of Banff, reported the most snowfall with 20 cm. Measurements in Calgary ranged from 10 to 18 cm.

  • West of Elkwater – 16.22 mm
  • Medicine Hat Airport – 12.04 mm
  • Bullshead Creek – 8 mm
  • North of Etzikom – 8 mm
  • Foremost – 7.8 mm
  • Lodge Creek near the Cypress Hills – 5.7 mm
  • West of Forty Mile Coulee – 5.16 mm
  • North of Rosemary – 5.1 mm
  • South of Manyberries – 4 mm
  • South of Suffield – 3.6 mm
  • North of Irvine – 3.6 mm
  • Onefour – 3.4 mm
  • Bull Springs – 3.3 mm
  • Pinhorn – 3.3 mm
  • South of Schuler – 2.8 mm
  • Northeast of Patricia – 2.3 mm
  • Brooks 1.98 mm
  • Rainier – 1.6 mm
  • Northeast of Rolling Hills – 1.4 mm
  • Bow Island – Non-Reporting
