A more fun and festive way of paying off your parking tickets is returning this holiday season.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has announced its 2025 Toys for Tickets campaign.

Underway on Thursday, Nov. 20, Parking Services across Alberta Health Services, Primary Care Alberta, Acute Care Alberta, Assisted Living Alberta (AHS) and Recovery Alberta will accept new, unwrapped toy donations as an alternative to paying recently issued parking tickets.

“This campaign is all about bringing joy to kids across Alberta,” says Nick Ternovatsky, Director of Parking for AHS.

“Every toy donated reflects the generosity in our communities and it’s inspiring to see how much people care.”

The tickets must have been issued between Nov. 7 and Dec. 19, 2025, to be eligible.

Toys must also:

  • Be new and unwrapped.
  • Be in their original packaging.
  • Be suitable for ages newborn to 17.
  • Have a minimum value of $25.

Donated toys will be shared with hospitals and local charities across the province.

Some ideas for toys to donate include books, art-and-craft kits, building sets, board games, dolls and action figures, sports balls, headphones, small electronics, journals, activity books, and gift cards for grocery stores and restaurants to support families.

Last year, more than 1,150 toys were donated across Alberta through the program.
