Tigers comeback attempts falls short in overtime to Wheat Kings

Nov 15, 2025 | 8:49 PM

Two goals in the dying minutes of regulation would secure the Medicine Hat Tigers a point, but they would be denied the second, as the Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the Tigers 6-5 in overtime.

A controversial no-call led to the eventual Jaxon Jacobson overtime winner, his second goal of the night.

The Wheat Kings also saw a pair of goals from Brady Turko, while Luke Mistelbacher and Jordan Gavin also added singles.

The Tiger offense was led by their captain, Bryce Pickford, who found the back of the net twice for his tenth and 11th goals of the season, tying the league lead for goals by defensemen with Jonas Woo.

Jordan Switzer stopped 25 of 31 shots in the defeat, while Filip Ruzicka turned aside 43 of 48 in the win.

The Medicine Hat penalty kill went five for five against the league’s second-ranked power play entering the night.

The Tabbies’ man-advantage had just one look and failed to capitalize.

Medicine Hat will be out of action until this Wednesday, when they battle the Calgary Hitmen for the first of three meetings next week.
