Co-op Place in Medicine Hat hosted 54-40 on Nov. 5, as they performed their signature alternative rock music from their upcoming album.

The Vancouver-born band has their upcoming album ‘Porto’ set for release on Jan. 23, 2026.

Lead singer Neil Osborne describes the project as an album about renewal and resilience.

“It’s loud. We went to Portugal for the month of April, and all hung out together and made a record together,” Osborne said.

“It was a lot of fun. They’re good rock songs, a little message in each one.”

Brad Merritt, the bassist for 54-40, said the songs speak for themselves.

Merritt said before the show, it will be exciting to perform in Medicine Hat.

“This is where the Medicine Hat Tigers play, and that’s a very exciting thing because they’ve won the Memorial Cup a few times,” Merritt said.

“So to play in this building, that means something to me as a sports fan. It looks like it’s going to be a good crowd here in Medicine Hat,” he added.

“It’s exciting. I’m actually quite excited.”

54-40 were the opening act for Foreigner at Co-op Place, setting the stage for a great night of music.
