Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce hosting events for Small Business Week

Oct 22, 2025 | 8:13 AM

Small Business Week started on Sunday and will wrap up on Sunday, and the Southeast Alberta Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate it.

The Chambers’ theme this week is “The Economic Revolution is Here – Get Your Business Ready.”

The theme, according to the Chamber, highlights the transformative changes reshaping the business landscape—from digital innovation and AI integration to sustainable practices and shifting consumer expectations.

The group adds that small businesses are at the forefront of this revolution, and the Chamber is committed to helping local entrepreneurs adapt, thrive, and lead.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our regional economy,” said Chamber president Aaron Fleming.

“As we navigate this new economic era, it’s more important than ever to equip our business community with the tools, insights, and support they need to succeed.”

The Chamber has hosted and co-hosted a series of events, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to empower small business owners and entrepreneurs so far this week.

On Tuesday, a community connections event took place, and a disability employment awareness month luncheon.

On Wednesday morning, a Leadership Breakfast will engage with municipal leaders in an open dialogue about regional priorities and how they shape the business community.

Thursday will feature the Reality Bytes Leadership Summit, which will include a full day of leadership, learning and inspiration at the Monarch Theatre.

The Chamber also encourages participation in its Local First Initiative, a campaign designed to ignite Southeast Alberta’s economy by promoting local shopping and community investment.

Residents and businesses alike are invited to join the movement by displaying Local First decals, sharing stories online, and choosing local whenever possible.

Whether it’s shopping local, attending events, or amplifying local stories, every action helps strengthen our community, not just during Small Business Week, but throughout the year.
