Winter storm watch upgraded to warning
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The winter storm watch for Medicine Hat and much of central and southern Alberta has since been upgraded to a winter storm warning.
Environment Canada made the upgrade at 10:27 a.m. on Wednesday, noting the area of heavy snow that has formed over central Alberta has started to move south and will continue to intensify.
The heavy snow will continue through Wednesday night and most of the day Thursday before tapering off Thursday evening.
Current forecasts from Environment Canada are calling for between five to 10 centimetres of snow starting Wednesday night, with the potential of more than 10 cm falling on Thursday.
