
From dirt to door: BILD Alberta demystifying homebuilding and its affordability
The Building Industry and Land Development Association Alberta has launched a public awareness campaign, “Unlock Housing,” to take Albertans behind the scenes on how homes and communities are built, from dirt to door.
BILD Alberta says our province leads the country in new home construction.
Despite this fact, along with industry efforts to reduce delivery times, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation estimates the province is still short 130,000 homes. Additionally, 94 per cent of Albertans agree that we’re facing a housing and affordability crisis.
“The average Albertan does not see what determines the final price tag of their home or their monthly rent,” said Scott Fash, the CEO of BILD Alberta.
