Holy week commemoration at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

“”We’ve got venues like that for every day of the Holy Week to show what happened and to help us remember the significance of that event and that week,” Hill said.

The various sites include the empty tomb, Solomon’s Temple and professional videos and display boards to learn about the significance of Jesus and Easter.

Hill said they will have groups of about 15 or 20 people at a time, going through the displays every 15 minutes.

He adds that they really want the public to help commemorate Easter because if we didn’t have the Easter commemoration, Christmas wouldn’t be quite the celebration it is.

“The significance really comes, we feel, from commemorating those events, the resurrection, the atonement of Jesus Christ,” Hill said.

“People are just welcome here to come and take part in that and celebrate and commemorate those events with us.”

It takes place Thursday and Friday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saamis Rotary Way.

It will continue Saturday throughout the day.
