Medicine Hat College, police service collaborate on training program
Medicine Hat College is partnering with police to host the city’s first police training program that aims to develop recruits within the community.
The first cohort — selected through the Medicine Hat Police Service’s regular recruitment process — will start the course in January, according to a news release from the college.
The program will combine the college’s educational expertise and resources with the police service’s practical knowledge to create a strong learning experience, officials said.
“This collaboration not only strengthens our commitment to providing the highest standard of service to our community, but it also ensures that our officers are equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to handle the complex challenges they face,” Chief Alan Murphy said in a statement.
