Medicine Hat pride group holding Trans Day of Remembrance event tonight

Nov 20, 2024 | 2:42 PM

The Prairie Guild of Medicine Hat and District is holding a tea, candlelight vigil and presentation tonight for Transgender Day of Remembrance.

It’s a day that was founded in 1999 as a chance to reflect, honour, and take meaningful steps in support of transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse colleagues, as well as all members of the 2SLGBTQ+ plus communities.

It aims to honour the memory of the trans people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-trans violence in the past year, according a description on the event page.

The event runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Medicine Hat Public Library’s downstairs theatre.
