Medicine Hat Public Library hosting second annual local authors meet and greet on Saturday

Nov 19, 2024 | 5:57 PM

Medicine Hat Public Library will host five local authors at its second annual Local Authors Meet and Greet on Saturday.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, even if they aren’t previously familiar with the authors.

The meet and greet will present an opportunity, for those who may want to get into authorship, to meet likeminded individuals.

The authors will be available to speak with attendees about their process of book writing and how they themselves became authors.

Ben Coxson, Olivia M. Geib, Frank Krulicki, Pam Roberston Rivet and Cody Wheeler will be the five local authors who are attending.

“I love any opportunity to meet my readers and interact with my community,” Geib said.

“Especially when I get to talk about my favourite subject- books,” she added.

Geib is the author of young adult fantasy novels that cater to teenagers.

There will be something for everyone, however, at the meet and greet event, with the diversification between the authors.

Krulick himself is a comic book writer, who sold his first script to DC Comics at the age of 16.

RIvet has over 20 years of experience as a writer, and has amassed over 250 writing credits. She mixes technical work and creative non-fiction.

The event will start at 2 pm, with each of the authors sharing their writing story.

Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to have one-on-one discussions with the authors, as well as the chance to purchase their books.

Biographies of each of the authors can be found in the Medicine Hat Public Library article.
