Tigers score big in community outreach, skating with families in Ralston
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers have around 3,000 fans attending every home game. To give back to those fans, the Tigers participate in community events throughout the season.
One of those events was a community skate at the Ralston Recreation Centre yesterday, with families of the Canadian Forces Base Suffield.
“We pull up in the bus and they’re all banging on the glass just waiting for us,” says Tigers player, Shane Smith. “It’s pretty special. I know as a kid I looked up to junior teams in places I played. And yeah, it’s just a great feeling knowing that we mean a lot to them and being able to give back to the community.”
