Fire restriction for Cypress County

MEDICINE HAT, AB–Cypress County is now under a fire restriction.

Permitted burning in the county is not allowed due to dry/hot conditions.

The following are allowed:

• Recreational campfires
• Solid fuel barbecues (charcoal)
• Internal household fireplaces
• Propane or natural gas-fueled appliances
• Wood pellet smokers
• Incinerators
• Burning barrels
• Chimeneas

Any person or persons who willfully sets an open fire or any fire not allowed under the order may be charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act and Cypress County Bylaw 2020/06.
