City enhances park safety with new operating hours

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat, in collaboration with the Medicine Hat Police Service, is taking measures to address the recent increase in vandalism and undesirable activities in specific city parks.
Starting on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, the park entrances at Kin Coulee, Strathcona Island Park, and Police Point Park, will be locked daily from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. to ensure the safety and upkeep of these public spaces.
Regular operating hours for all parks in Medicine Hat will continue to be from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The city encourages people to continue to utilize the parks and facilities as normal and to report any undesirable activity or vandalism in the park to park authorities.
