Province issues fire ban for Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park

CYPRESS HILLS, AB – A fire ban is now in effect for Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.

The province issued the fire ban on Wednesday afternoon, prohibiting all open fires including campfires and charcoal briquettes, and all wood fires inside park facilities including those contained within a device.

Portable propane fire pits contained within designated fire pits and gas or propane stoves and barbeques designed for cooking or heating are permitted.

In June, Cypress County implemented its own fire ban that covers the rest of the county.
