Jul 17, 2023 | 10:52 AM

DUNMORE, AB – Cypress County will host a producer-focused agriculture conference later this year.

The first Cypress County Ag Connections Conference is set for Nov. 22 at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede grounds and will welcome farmers, ranchers and others in agriculture in southern Alberta and Saskatchewan.

“Cypress County understands and appreciates the importance of agriculture in our region,” says Reeve Dan Hamilton in a news release.

“We want to ensure this industry is viable and sustainable for many years and we see this event as the opportunity to support our farmers and ranchers while connecting them with ag-based businesses in the region.”

Farmer and mental health advocate Lesley Kelly will be the keynote speaker,
on the topic When Stress is More Than a Season. Other planned sessions include smart irrigation, innovation and the use of drones in agriculture, farm direct marketing and the global farming outlook for 2024.

More information about the event is available at cypresscountybusiness.ca. Registration will open Sept. 1 online and at the county office.
