Tigers look to get back in the series in Game 3
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The rally towels are out at Co-op Place to welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers and the local fans back to the Western Hockey League playoffs.
The Tigers return to home ice in the playoffs down 2-0 to the Winnipeg Ice in their first-round series. The Ice won Game 1 on Friday 5-3 and followed that with a 5-2 victory in Game 2 on Saturday.
Winnipeg, who won the WHL regular season crown, is a good team with high-end players, head coach and GM Willie Desjardins said after practice on Monday. He said staying out of the box will help cool those high-end players and that in five-on-five play the score in the series is an even 3-3.
“Overall it’s going to take a team. We’re not going to beat ’em with one or two guys, we gotta beat ’em with our depth and we have to be able to play everybody and they gotta play hard,” he said.
