Cubs win back-to-back OT games, take 2-1 series lead
MEDICINE HAT, AB – Kyle Woolridge stole the show and has the Medicine Hat Cubs in the driver’s seat of their second-round series in the Heritage Junior Hockey League playoffs.
Woolridge scored all four goals in the Cubs’ 4-3 overtime victory over the Cochrane Generals on Saturday night.
The Cubs pulled out the victory after the Generals forced overtime with just three ticks left on the clock. Colby Friedrich added three assists in the win.
It was the second overtime win in as many nights for the Cubs after a 3-2 win in Game 2. At the Kinplex on Friday the Cubs battled back from a 2-0 hole, completing the comeback when Vaughn Strutt scored the overtime winner.
