One man dead in crash on Highway 1 near Chestermere

MEDICINE HAT, AB – One man is dead following a motor vehicle collision on Highway 1 near Chestermere.

RCMP responded to the collision between a semi hauling herbicide and two other semi trucks parked on the shoulder of the road around 3 a.m. Friday.

Both lanes of Highway 1, westbound at Paradise Road (Range Road 282) are affected by this collision.

At this time RCMP, EMS and Fire are on scene. Volker Steven is present redirecting traffic for the next several hours.

Westbound traffic will be routed to the Chestermere exit for travel on Hwy 1A and 17th Avenue SE through Chestermere.
