More COVID-19 protections available for kids in Alberta

Jan 5, 2023 | 8:54 AM

Alberta parents looking to get their children more protection in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic will have new options starting today.

The province says the Pfizer bivalent vaccine booster – effective against the wild type and B-A.4/B-A.5 subvariants – will be available for children aged five to 11.

And the Novavax protein-based vaccine will be available for a primary series or as a booster for youth aged 12 to 17.

Both shots will be available at Alberta Health Service public health clinics.
