Cold bodies, warm hearts: Stuff the Cruiser brings in close to 5,000 pounds of food
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The results are in from a pair of goodwill events that took place before Christmas.
On Dec. 21, Redcliff RCMP members braved the cold for their second annual Stuff the Cruiser Holiday Food Drive. A total of 4,724 pounds of food was donated to help stock the shelves at the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub and cash donations were also accepted.
Redcliff RCMP Staff Sgt. Michael Courty says they appreciate the community’s generosity and partners from town council, bylaw and Citizens on Patrol who also braved the frigid temperatures to lend their support in front of Redcliff Family Foods.
Alberta Health Services ran its Toys for Tickets campaign in November and December. The campaign allowed people with AHS parking tickets to donate a new, unwrapped toy rather than paying the ticket.
