Rattlers Roundup: Women’s hockey plays first home game, cross-country hosts nationals
MEDICINE HAT, AB – It was a quiet but significant weekend of action for the Medicine Hat College Rattlers.
The cross-country teams hosted the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships and the women’s hockey team played its first home game.
Becky Ross was the top Rattler runner, placing seventh after finishing the 6K course in a time of 23:59. Teammate Madison Scrimger placed 21st in a time of 24:47. Cheldynn Molnar (49th, 25:57), Pyper Gill (82nd, 27:44) and Annika Marshall (111th, 33:26) rounded out the Rattlers women’s team. The team finished in sixth place overall.
On the men’s side, Brannon Sumner led the way for the Rattlers. He placed 63rd, running the 8K course in a time of 29:51. Jaiden Romaniuk was close behind at 30;13, good for 66th place. Gage Smith (88th, 31:37), Harrison Lawson (95th, 32:13), Carson Schiller (100th, 33:13) and Justin Jager (105th, 34:27) also helped run the men’s team to a 15th place finish.
