Oct 29, 2022 | 2:32 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Tabbies take on the visiting Victoria Royals in the fourth game of their five game home stand Saturday.

This is the second of back-to-back games for the hat this weekend, that started off with a 2-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blades Friday. Leaving them 1-2-0 during their time at home so far.

Tigers Goaltender Beckett Langkow is expected to be between the pipes for his eleventh start of the season. Langkow currently holds a 4-5-1 record on the season with an .882 save percentage.

The Royals have been a struggling team so far currently holding a record this season of 2-10-2, having lost their last four games in a row. Their most recent game was Friday in Swift Current, with a final score of 5-1 in favour of the Broncos.

It was Royals forward Brayden Schuurman who had the only goal of the game for his squad. That being his first goal of the season, and first point.

That record lands victoria tenth in the western conference, and twenty-first in the entire league. Although the Royals do have offensive fire power with key contributors, Teague Patton with eleven points on the season, and right wing Jake Poole with ten.

The Tigers have an offensive prowess of their own, having made their way into second place in league powerplay standings, currently operating at a 29.6 per cent conversion rate.

Although that stat sits a little lower at home this season for The Tabbies at 26.9 per cent from Co-Op Place.

Tonights game serves as an opportunity for Medicine Hat to get back to .500 on the home stand, as well leapfrog the Lethbridge Hurricanes to move into eighth in the Eastern conference.

Getting the two points would effect the league standings as well, moving The Tabbies from sixteenth into a tie for eleventh were the other teams to remain at their current point totals.

The matchup takes place at 7:00 p.m. from Co-Op place, if you are not able to attend you can hear all the action on Wild 94.5 with voice of the Tigers Gino De Paoli.
