Oct 28, 2022 | 3:30 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Medicine Hat Transit thinks they’ve found a way to prevent people from waiting too long in the cold for a bus.

Friday marked the soft launch of the new MyRide system. It allows all transit users to enter the stop they intend to be at along with what route they are looking for, In order to get an up-to-the-minute arrival time for the correct bus.

Transit manager Gordon Dykstra was involved in the recent upgrades to MHT, including the recently launched Go! pass system.

He thinks that recent changes made by Medicine Hat Transit will increase ridership, with the overall idea of the upgrades being to increase convenience for transit users.

Dykstra explained the use of the new website, saying “If you are standing at a stop, or within the near vicinity of the stop you can open up the webpage, tap on an icon and it will tell you how long until the next bus arrives. It’s very quick, and very convenient.”

To check when your next bus arrives you can head to the MyRide website right now.
