Hat High Hawks moving on to the championship round

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat High Hawks defeated the McCoy Colts in Friday nights semi-final matchup 58-0.

The lead had already reached 51-0 at halftime when Hat High decided to pull out their starters, and allow their backups to see some field time in the final two quarters.

There was many stars in the game that decided the final outcome. Like quarterback Kaeden Buckler who threw four touchdown passes in the matchup.

On the other end of some of those throws was Owen Steinke who had three touchdown catches, and Cole Ricken with two of his own as well.

The running game was also in order for The Hawks, specifically for Chayse Lefler who added two running touchdowns to his stat book.

Head Coach Quinn Skelter says his players came in more than prepared for the game, and acknowledges the great effort from The Colts.

“Our Players had a great week to prepare for a playoff game. They executed the first half as planned, putting up the points and getting all of our team in to play the second half. (I’m) very proud of the team effort. Hats off to the McCoy players and coaches with a never quit attitude. Well done.”

McCoy will head to Brooks on Friday to face off against the Buffalo’s for third place in the conference.

Hat High will now move on to the Rangeland Football Conference Championship, where they will take on the Crescent Heights High Vikings.

that game will take place at the Methanex Bowl, Friday at 7:00 p.m.
