Arrest made after assault near the river

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Police have made an arrest following a serious assault near the South Saskatchewan River in Strathcona Island Park on Aug 16.

According to Medicine Hat Police Service, 32-year-old Andrew Beaudoin is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon and two counts of breaching a release order.

He remains in custody following a bail hearing and will return to court on Aug. 23.
