Russian troops advance on Ukraine’s two biggest cities

Mar 1, 2022 | 2:10 PM

Russian forces have stepped up their attacks on populated urban areas in cities in Ukraine.

They bombarded the central square in Ukraine’s second-largest city and Kyiv’s main T-V tower.

Ukraine’s president accused Moscow of a blatant campaign of terror and vowed, “Nobody will forgive. Nobody will forget.”

With the Kremlin increasingly isolated by tough economic sanctions that have tanked the ruble currency, Russian troops advanced on Ukraine’s two biggest cities.

In strategic Kharkiv (HAR’-keev), explosions tore through the region’s Soviet-era administrative building and residential areas.

Ukrainian authorities said five people were killed and five wounded in the attack on the Kyiv T-V tower.
