That score held until the early stages of the second period, but that’s where the game would break open in Edmonton’s favour.

The Oil Kings netted three goals in just 70 seconds with Neighbours, Jalen Luypen and Guenther all finding the back of the net to quickly make it a 4-0 lead for the home side.

While Langkow made a number of big stops at one end of the ice, the Tigers were able to get themselves on the board roughly four minutes later thanks to captain Daniel Baker with a pin balling puck that beat Kolby Hay.

Blueliner Rhett Parsons helped bring the Tigers to within a pair of goals 3:36 into the third, scoring his second goal in three games from the left face-off dot to pull Medicine Hat to a 4-2 count.

However, the Oil Kings would be able to add a pair of power play goals courtesy of Guenther and Neighbours in the third to seal the decisive victory for Edmonton.

From the second period on, Edmonton dominated in shots with 42 pucks on net over the final 40 minutes of action eventually outshooting the Tigers 47-20.

Medicine Hat will look to shake off the loss on Saturday night, when they return home to Co-Op Place to hit the ice against the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7:00 pm.
