Partial fire ban lifted by city

Dec 15, 2021 | 11:35 AM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat has lifted the partial fire ban that has been in place since the summer.

The decision removes the restrictions in Strathcona Island Park and the fire pit in the group camp area at the east end of Echo Dale Regional Park.

The decision was made due to cooler temperatures and recent rain and snowfall.

The city reminds people that all backyard fire pits in Medicine Hat require a permit. Fire pit permits are available from Medicine Hat Fire and Emergency Services. Visit the city website to apply for a permit.
