“Big Bag Of Cash”: Medicine Hat Kinsmen’s biggest fundraiser underway

Nov 24, 2021 | 6:27 PM

For the second year in a row, a “Big Bag of Cash” will be handed out in Medicine Hat, as part of the Kinsmen’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

The grand prize for the latest Kinsmen raffle is $100,000, and will be given to a lucky winner or winners on Jan. 10.

Meanwhile, the pandemic brings with it the new option of buying tickets online.

“Tickets automatically get sent to (your email address) once you purchase your tickets. Last year we were printing them out and mailing them to people who purchased the tickets, so automation and the internet has helped us this year,” the Kinsmen’s Edward Lipin said.

Tickets for the lottery range anywhere from $10 for a single ticket, up to $100 for 100 tickets.

The Kinsmen are also holding a 50-50 draw, which will pay out at least $20,000, but last year’s payout was $47,000.

Money raised by the promotion will go to various events and projects the Kinsmen sponsor throughout the city, like public skating and Boys and Girls Clubs.

Cutoff to buy tickets is Jan. 10 at 4 p.m, and the draw will take place one hour later.
