Disrespectful actions in B.C. on Remembrance Day

CRANBROOK, B.C. – While thousands of people gathered at cenotaphs across B.C. yesterday to honour Canadians who served or sacrificed for our country, there were others engaged in dishonorable and disrespectful behavior.

Cranbrook RCMP are investigating an act of abhorrent vandalism at the city’s war memorial which was discovered by a passerby early on the morning of Remembrance Day.

A culprit had painted in large, green letters on the monument – quote -“The real heroes are the vaccinated.”

City staff, as well as RCMP and emergency responders, were able to clean the message off of the white marble before the Remembrance Day ceremony took place.

RCMP are hoping someone comes forward with information on who is responsible.

Meanwhile, in Kelowna, RCMP there were dispatched to the cenotaph just before 11 a.m. to break up a demonstration of 75 to 100 people protesting vaccine mandates
