COVID means delay to Medicine Hat awards ceremony

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The City of Medicine Hat has put a hold on its bi-annual Community Spirit Awards event.
A statement issued by the city says the awards ceremony, which was set for Oct. 20, have been postponed due to “the current COVID situation.”
The awards “are the city’s way of recognizing and saying thank you to volunteers which help weave the fabric of our community,” said Kris Samraj, councillor for civic functions, in a previous statement.
Five residents and four community organizations were to be recognized as 2021 recipients.
