Oct 7, 2021 | 11:48 AM

CYPRESS COUNTY, AB — Nearly 22 months have passed since the discovery of man’s body in a field south of Medicine Hat, and investigators continue to work on finding his killer.

Redcliff RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death around 11 a.m. on Jan. 13, 2020.

The intersection of Township Road 114 at Range Road 61 was closed to traffic at that time.

Investigators determined the death was suspicious, and the major crimes unit took charge of the case.

An autopsy found the man died as a result of homicide, and the victim was identified as a 27-year-old male from Brooks.

Cpl. Tammy Keibel with RCMP Media Relations in Southern Alberta, says the investigation remains open.

“So at this point, we don’t have any new information to share, but we are encouraging the public that if they do have any information on this incident to please contact the Redcliff RCMP at 403-548-2222,” says Keibel.
