MEDICINE HAT, AB – A standout Medicine Hat athlete has just committed to play football at one of the most prestigious universities in the U.S.

“Stanford is just one of those schools that has it all,” Elic Ayomanor said. “They play in a Power Five conference for football, they’re Division 1, they consistently compete for championships in that conference and then you just add top five academics year in and year out.”

Ayomanor played football at Medicine Hat High School and competed with the Bulldogs Track and Field Club.

He currently goes Deerfield Academy, a top prep school in Massachusetts.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wide receiver says Stanford was always his dream school. He’s looking forward to the athletic and academic competition when he moves to California.

While he hasn’t decided on a college major yet, Ayomanor does have big career goals.

“I know that I want to go to dental school afterwards so I’m kind of thinking about a business major while taking prerequisites for dental school,” Ayomanor said. “Once I get out of dental school, I’ll be able to have the business acumen that you need to start your own practice.”

He will move to Stanford next June.
