Two vehicle crash claims life of Lloydminster woman

CYPRESS COUNTY — RCMP at Redcliff are continuing their investigation into a fatal accident on Highway 1 west of the community on August 7.

Mounties responded at about 6:30 a.m. to the collision near Highway 524.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an eastbound car with two occupants clipped an eastbound pick-up truck when it was overtaking it, causing the driver of the car to lose control. The car rolled several times into the south ditch.

The 35 year old female of Lloydminister was thrown from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18 year old male passenger from Brooks was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
