TOKYO – After placing fifth in the 400-metre hurdles semifinal, Medicine Hat’s Sage Watson won’t be advancing to the final.

Watson ran her signature event in 55.51 seconds, just over a second shy of her personal best of 54.32 seconds.

Via Instagram, her coach Fred Harvey said the semifinals didn’t go the way they wanted, but he’s so proud of her.

“It will be my mission in life to let the world see what she’s capable of doing! Thank you to everyone for your continued Love & Support!” Harvey said.
