One new case in city, 41 in province

Another active COVID-19 case in Medicine Hat, case count inching up

Medicine Hat now has nine active cases of COVID-19.

Medicine Hat has had 1,272 total cases – the nine active, 1,241 recovered and there have been 22 deaths.

There is one new case in the city since Thursday and no new recoveries.

59.9 per cent of Hatters have received at least one dose of vaccine at the latest update.

There are 579 active cases in the province, up one from Thursday, and 229,783 recovered cases in the province, up 38.

Alberta’s total cases from the start of the pandemic is 232,676.

There are 41 new cases in the province today, and 44 more variant of concern cases have been identified.

There are now 110 Albertans in hospital with COVID-19, 28 of which are in ICU, and 2,314 deaths.

The province completed 6,365 tests in the past 24 hours.

The positivity rate is about 0.6 per cent.

Alberta has administered 4,980,821 doses of vaccine at the latest update.

Province-wide, 74.5 per cent of Albertans 12 years old and up have received at least one dose of vaccine and 57.9 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Among Albertans of all ages, 63.4 per cent have received at least one dose of vaccine and 49.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

There are 20 active cases and 12,372 recovered in the South Zone. The death total in the zone is at 134.

An AHS spokesperson told CHAT News on Tuesday there are currently four COVID-19 positive patients hospitalized in the South Zone. Medicine Hat Regional Hospital has two inpatients with one of those in the ICU. Chinook Regional Hospital also has two inpatients.

The province-wide reproductive value for the week of July 5-11 is 0.84. It is 0.88 in Calgary Zone, 0.97 in Edmonton Zone and 0.69 in the rest of Alberta.

Cypress County has totaled 302 cases. There is one active case, 300 recovered and one death. The latest vaccination rate for all ages is 50.4 per cent.

The County of Forty Mile has 157 total cases. There are no active cases, 154 recovered and there have been three deaths. The latest vaccination rate for all ages is 30.1 per cent.

The MD of Taber has 572 total cases — no active cases, 566 recovered and there have been six deaths. The latest vaccination rate for all ages is 36.6 per cent.

Special Areas No. 2 has 105 total cases – one active case, 103 recovered and there has been one death.

Brooks has 1,502 total cases — zero active cases and 1,487 are recovered. Brooks has recorded 15 deaths.

The County of Newell has a total of 248 cases — four active cases, 241 recovered and there have been three deaths. The latest vaccination rate for all ages is 49.5 per cent, including Brooks.

The County of Warner has 468 total cases. There are no active cases, 465 are recovered cases and there have been three deaths in the county. The latest vaccination rate for all ages is 46 per cent.

The City of Lethbridge has a total of 4,842 cases. There are seven active cases, 4,796 recovered and there have been 39 deaths. Lethbridge County has 1,264 cases, one active case, 1,251 recovered and there have been 12 deaths.

Not all the areas on the vaccination data map match the case count map.

The figures on alberta.ca are “up-to-date as of end of day July 15, 2021.”

Saskatchewan has a total of 49,362 cases, 380 considered active. There are 48,407 recovered cases and there have been 575 COVID-19 deaths in the province.

Saskatchewan has delivered 1,332,135 doses of vaccine.
