UCP caucus welcomes back Lesser Slave Lake MLA Pat Rehn

United Conservative Party Caucus Chair Nathan Neudorf announced today that the party is welcoming back Lesser Slave Lake MLA Pat Rehn to the caucus.

Rehn was kicked out of the caucus back on Jan. 14.

Rehn had been criticized by municipal leaders in his constituency, including the entire town council in Slave Lake, for not doing enough to listen to concerns in the area.

While he was removed from the party, Neudorf says Rehn has worked hard over the past months to regain the trust of his constituents.

“Pat has been doing an incredible amount of work to rebuild trust and get things done in his constituency,” explained Neudorf. “He has learned to apply the skills that made him so successful in business to his job as MLA, and he has reminded all of us why he was elected in the first place.”

Rehn wants the constituents of Lesser Slave Lake to know that he is eager to work hard for his riding, so his constituents can benefit as much as possible from the province’s economic recovery.

“The past six months have been eye-opening to me, as I worked to regain the trust and confidence of my constituents. It was clear that I was not living up to expectations in representing Lesser Slave Lake, and for that I am sorry,” expressed Rehn.

“I am humbled that people are willing to give me a second chance, and I will not let them down,” said Rehn. “I am a conservative and I joined politics to put the NDP’s devastating experiments out to pasture and to restore the Alberta Advantage for all. I thank my government colleagues and look forward to the days ahead.”
