Patio season kicks off with favourable weather

MEDICINE HAT, AB – You’ll be able to cheers a cold one on some of the city’s patios with this favourable weather.

Patio season usually kicks off in May, but some opened on Friday, including Hell’s Basement, Medicine Hat Brewing Company, and The Silver Buckle.

Owner of Hell’s Basement Mike Patriquin says it’s nice to see smiling faces enjoying the fresh air.

He says their patio is open year-round if you’re able to brave the elements.

It’s also dog friendly like many others in the city.

“I think everybody has been cooped up this winter, especially this winter and I think everybody is looking forward to patio season,” Patriquin told CHAT News.

“It’s so nice to be able to see the sun coming out and people just embracing it and being outside and having some beers and it’s the perfect weather for it,” Jessica Day with Medicine Hat Brew Co. said.

Day says right now Brew Co. is just offering drinks on the patio and no food service outside yet.
