Exhibition Park elects new president, four new directors

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A crop of new people are in charge of Exhibition Park.

Lethbridge & District Exhibition held its AGM on Thursday. Bev Lanz was elected as the 55th President of the Board of Directors.

“I am honoured to be elected as the president of the Lethbridge & District Exhibition,” said Lanz. “These are exciting times as we begin redevelopment of Exhibition Park and I am looking forward to the day the doors of the Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre open in 2023.”

Also elected were:

  • First Vice President: Ryan Miller
  • Second Vice President: Russ Zemp

Members of Board of Directors:

  • Henry Doeve (2nd term elected to the Board)
  • Mark Sayers (3rd term elected to the Board)
  • Heath Wright (1st term elected to Board)

Continuing their terms on the Board of Directors are:

  • Bruce Galts (who becomes Past President)
  • Rick Neudorf
  • Steve Campbell (County of Lethbridge appointee)
  • Cathy Maxwell
  • Don Strankman

Four departing volunteer members of the Board of Directors were thanked by shareholders and Administration for their commitment and service to the organization):

  • Mike Davis, departing as Past President after eight years of service on the Board
  • Tom McKenzie after six years of service
  • John Rafa, after four years of service
  • Aaron Honess, after four years of service

“For more than 120 years, volunteer leadership of Lethbridge & District Exhibition has paved the way for our success,” said Mike Warkentin, Chief Operating Officer. “As we embark on a historic new chapter in the history of Exhibition Park, we couldn’t ask for a better group of community leaders to push us forward.”
