Medalta gifts ideal for Christmas but shop closing on Saturday for the holidays

MEDICINE HAT, AB – It’s one of the few places in the city where you can get a handcrafted, Medicine Hat original gift for Christmas but the Medalta gift shop will only be open for a few more days before closing until the new year.

Everything from 1960s- and ’70s-made dinner sets recovered from the abandoned Hycroft building to recreated Medalta crocks to original works of art, the Historic Clay District has a large array of items for Christmas decoration and gifts.

“It is a great opportunity to get something you will not get anywhere else,” said Mike Onieu, Medalta executive director. “It’s all made with care. Much of the products here are designed with Christmas in mind so there are things for your Christmas tree, there are gifts for your family, there are even gifts for your pets.”

Onieu says many of the items which were to be sold at the cancelled Heritage Christmas Market at Medalta are also available to purchase.
